What is mentoplasty?
Mentoplasty is a minor surgery designed to augment and project the structure of a recessed or weak chin using a solid medical implant.
Our philosophy prioritizes three-dimensional anatomical harmonization. We do not seek to simply enlarge the chin, but to balance the facial contour in conjunction with the nose and neck angle. We avoid placing disproportionate implants—which cause a harsh or cartoonish appearance—and select anatomically contoured implants that adapt to the native jaw, securing them safely to prevent displacement.

What does the plan include?
Chin augmentation with an implant is planned to maximize scar concealment:
Concealed internal incision
A small 1.5 cm incision is made inside the mouth in the lower gum. The implant is placed directly on the bony structure, leaving no external scars on the facial skin.
Cohesive silicone contouring
Selection of a solid, medical-grade anatomical implant according to the shape, width, and degree of projection required to balance the proportions of the chin.
Absorbable sutures
Closure of the internal oral incision using fine, absorbable sutures that dissolve spontaneously after a few days of recovery.
* If the patient also presents excess fat under the chin (double chin), a neck liposuction is performed concurrently during the same surgery.

The procedure, explained simply
A small incision inside the lower lip, externally invisible. It heals quickly and leaves no marks.
The implant is seated directly on the periosteum of the lower jawbone, preventing displacement.
It is comfortably performed under local anesthesia, with the option of light sedation depending on the case.
Outpatient procedure; you return to your recovery home immediately after completion.
Preparing for your surgery
Since the incisions are made inside the oral cavity, strict oral hygiene and dental health are essential to prevent implant infections.
Recovery Timeline
Mentoplasty recovery is very manageable. The main discomforts are initial swelling and hygiene restrictions when eating.
Days 1 to 3 — Care and cold soft diet
Stage of peak swelling in the chin and lower lip. You must follow a cold, soft diet, performing rigorous mouth rinses after eating any food.Days 5 to 7 — Removal of external tape
The external support tape that helps shape and contain chin swelling is removed. You can transition to warm foods of a soft consistency.Week 2 — Normal return to work
Swelling decreases significantly. Patients typically return to their work activities. The internal absorbable sutures fall out on their own during this period.Months 1 to 3 — Defined jawline contour
