What is Frontoplasty?
Frontoplasty is surgery of the upper third (forehead and eyebrows) to improve proportion and expression.
Depending on your anatomy, the plan may focus on elevating eyebrows or reducing the height of a broad forehead.
In appraisal, the actual scope is defined: what should be moved, what should be kept and what result is reasonable without forcing features.
Frontoplasty: what changes and what does not change
What changes - Eyebrow position, visual aperture and upper third balance.
What does not change - The identity of the face; we are not looking for a “new look”, but a more rested and proportionate version.
What does a Frontoplasty usually include?
The plan is tailored to your case. It can include:
Eyebrow lift - Brow lift Repositioning to open the gaze without tensioning the skin.
Eyebrow smoothing Decreases the strength of the marked frown when it is part of the problem.
Front reduction - Hairline advancement if there is a broad forehead and a good candidate.
Scar design - Incisions planned to be hidden in the hair or hairline.
The technique is decided by your anatomy; it is not “chosen” by fashion.
Who is it for?
It could be for you if...
Tired or heavy look - You feel that the lower eyebrow “closes” the eye even if you are well rested.
Hard expression - The frown dominates your expression at rest.
Broad front - You are uncomfortable with the proportion and rely on hairstyles to hide it.
Alternatives should be evaluated if...
Eyelid is the main problem - It may correspond more to blepharoplasty than to forehead/eyebrow.
Active hair loss - In front reduction, capillary stability is important for clean camouflage.
Looking to eliminate crow's feet - This usually requires complementary treatments, not only surgery.
Frontoplasty assessment: how we define your plan
Objective and priorities
What makes you uncomfortable and what change would be proportionate to your face.
Analysis of the upper third
Forehead, eyebrows and eyelids are evaluated as a system, not separately.
Hairline and density
If you are looking for reduction, we define feasibility and design of the line.
Recommended range
What should be adjusted and what limits exist to maintain naturalness.
Surgical logistics
Venue, anesthesia and control schedule according to your agenda.
“A clear plan, with aligned expectations, defined next steps and space to resolve doubts.”
The procedure, explained in simple terms
Objective - Raise eyebrows to open up the look or advance hairline to improve proportion.
Surgical environment It is performed in hospital with complete equipment and anesthetic control.
Incisions - They are planned to be hidden in the hair or integrated into the hairline.
Technical decision - It is defined in assessment according to your anatomy and what you are looking to improve.
Preparation (before surgery)
- Complete medical history - Medications, supplements and relevant history.
- Medication indications - Preoperative adjustments according to your profile and assessment.
- Nicotine and healing - Suspension according to medical indication for skin care and closure.
- Departure logistics - Accompanying person, transfers and first days of rest organized.
Recovery and follow-up
First days - Swelling and sensation of tension; rest with head elevated.
First week - Revision and removal of stitches/staples according to evolution; light activity.
Weeks 2-4 - Low visible inflammation; gradual return to routine without intense effort.
Medium term - The result settles and the scar matures with care and follow-up.
The medical follow-up allows to adjust care and resolve doubts as the patient's evolution progresses.
Risks and considerations
As any surgery, there are risks. The relevant ones are explained in consultation according to your case.
Variable scarring - Depends on skin, care and individual response.
Slight asymmetries - Mild asymmetries The face is not perfectly symmetrical; we seek harmony, not perfection.
Time sensitivity - May change for a while in forehead/scalp areas.
Hair around the incision - In some cases there may be a temporary drop and gradual recovery.
These points are explained individually during the appraisal.
