Body contouring

Liposuction: reduce localized fat

Remove subcutaneous fat in specific areas to improve proportions; the limits are set by your anatomy and the quality of your skin.
Content

What is it?

The liposuction is a surgery of body contour: withdraws subcutaneous fat (the one under the skin and over the muscle) to improve the shape of specific areas.

Does not address the visceral fat (around the organs) and is not a substitute for diet, exercise or medical weight management. Liposuction is intended for contour and proportion. In evaluation we define if your goal is achieved with this procedure or with another option.

Liposuction: what changes and what doesn't change

Changes: localized volume and proportion (e.g., abdomen, waist, flanks, back, arms, thighs-as appropriate).
It does not change: habits, future fat distribution, or skin quality if there is already marked flaccidity or extensive stretch marks (this is defined by tissue, not by intention).

We do not work with packages or standard solutions. The evaluation defines what it does and does not contribute. The objective is to improve proportion and contour while respecting real limits and prioritizing safety.

What does it usually include?

It is defined in assessment according to your objectives, your anatomy and the safety plan.

  • Zone selection
Priority is given to areas that change proportion without over-treating.

  • Volume plan
How much to remove and where to remove it so that the result looks harmonious.

  • Skin evaluation
Elasticity and risk of flaccidity or irregularities.

  • Compression
Indication of compressive garment and adjustments during evolution.

  • Follow-up
Controls to monitor inflammation, symmetry and healing.

Who is it for?

We filter by anatomy, expectations and recovery logistics.

It could be for you if...

  • You have a relatively stable weight and are looking for improve contouring, not to lose weight.

  • There is localized fat that does not change with diet and exercise.

  • You can follow indications for compression, activity and controls.

  • Your expectations are realistic: the change is of form, not of “new body”.

Alternatives should be evaluated if...

  • Your main problem is “bulging” abdomen due to internal/visceral fat (not treatable with liposuction).

  • There is significant sagging: removing volume can leave loose or uneven skin.

  • You want a rigid “exact” or immediate result, with no variability.

  • There are uncontrolled medical conditions or active smoking.

Liposuction assessment: how we define your plan

Diagnosis, scope and next steps. Here it is decided whether the indication is liposuction, other surgery, or a staged plan.

Target

What makes you uncomfortable and what would be a natural outcome for you.

Analysis

Proportions, symmetries and zones that really change your silhouette.

Fabrics

Subcutaneous fat, skin and tissue quality. This marks the real limits of the case.

Scope

What should be done in one stage and what should be divided for safety.

Logistics

Headquarters, recovery, accompaniment and follow-up.

“A clear plan, with aligned expectations, defined next steps and space to resolve doubts.”

The procedure, explained in simple terms

  • Treatable areas. They are defined by anatomy and contouring objective.

  • Anesthesia. Determined according to scope and safety plan.

  • Duration. Depends on the number of areas and volume to be treated.

  • Incisions. Small and strategic; explained in valuation.

  • What is done. Subcutaneous fat is removed in a controlled manner to improve proportion.

Preparation (before surgery)

Practical checklist to arrive at the operating room with everything under control.

Recovery and follow-up

Typical chronogram: the evolution is progressive.

First days
Inflammation and tenderness; priority is given to relative rest and safe walking.

First week
Adjustment of care according to evolution and control of discomfort.

Subsequent weeks
The contour is gradually defined as the swelling goes down.

Subsequent months
The result is consolidated and the tissues are stabilized.

The medical follow-up allows to adjust care and resolve doubts as the patient's evolution progresses.

Risks and considerations

As in any surgery, there are risks. In liposuction the most relevant are usually bruising, prolonged swelling, slight contour irregularities or fluid accumulation in some cases. The assessment defines your risk profile and prevention measures.

  • Swelling and bruising. Expected at the beginning, they are controlled with follow-up.

  • Contour irregularities. They depend on tissue and scarring; they are checked in controls.

  • Seroma. It can occur and is managed if it appears.

These points are explained individually during the appraisal.

Medical Philosophy

Medical tourism in Puerto Vallarta + coordination

If you are coming from another city or country, you can start with a virtual consultation and organize your process with the support of a patient coordinator.

What it does include:

- Flow orientation: steps, agenda and logistical recommendations.
- Support to reach assessment with clarity.

What it does not include:

Flights and direct hotel reservations (we give you the freedom to choose according to your budget).

Frequently Asked Questions

Liposuction focuses on contour and proportion. In the evaluation we define if your goal is achieved with this procedure or if another option is convenient.
Visceral (internal) fat is not removed with liposuction. The assessment identifies which component is predominant and which is treatable.
Liposuction reduces volume, but the skin does not always retract equally. An evaluation will determine if liposuction alone is helpful or if another alternative is appropriate.
It depends on the extent, the treated areas and your type of work. In evaluation and controls the recommendation for your case will be adjusted.
Compression is usually part of the recovery plan. The type and time of use is defined in assessment and adjusted with your evolution.
There are changes from the beginning, but the contour is defined as the swelling goes down. The rhythm is explained in assessment according to your anatomy and tissues.
